Pet frogs are being blamed on a national Salmonella outbreak.
According to an AP report, the Centers for Disease Control officially declared the African dwarf frog, a popular pet variety, was the source of at least 48 people getting sick in 25 states.
Regulators found Salmonella in three frog tanks tested where someone in the home fell ill.
All of the illnesses linked to this outbreak were reported from June through November, and there is no indication from CDC officials that consumers should consider this an end of the outbreak.
