The New Mexico Department of Health found its source of the salmonella outbreak which sickened 31 people in seven counties in the state.
Raw tomatoes – purchased at a Wal-Mart in Las Cruces or Farmington, N.M., or at Lowes’ stores in Las Cruces or Bashas’ in Crownpoint – have been identified as the source of what officials are calling Salmonella St. Paul, the specific strain of the virus.
Anyone who may have purchased tomatoes from these locations is being urged not to eat them and discard them immediately.
The Food and Drug Administration is trying to pinpoint the source of the tomatoes, according to KDBC-TV.
