Mars Petcare has recalled all of its dry pet food manufactured at its Everson, Pa., facility through this summer because of a potential salmonella contamination.
The company issued a voluntary recall of its Pedigree, Special Kitty, Ol’ Roy and PMI Nutrition Gravy Crunches brands of dog and cat food manufactured in Pennsylvania.
The recall affects pet food manufactured between Feb. 16 and July 29, 2008. This is the second recall in as many months from Mars.
Last month the company recall 100 20-pound bags of Pedigree Complete Nutrition Small Crunchy Bites, sold at Albertsons stores in southern California and Las Vegas.
Mars is also the manufacturer of Nutro pet foods, which many pet owners have blamed for illness and death in their pets.
Nutro products are not part of this recall.
