Del Monte cantaloupe recalled on positive salmonella test

Raley’s grocery stores is recalling about 1,120 cartons of Del Monte cantaloupe because it has tested positive for salmonella poisoning.

The cantaloupe was sold in northern California and Nevada at Raley’s stores, including its subsidiaries Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.

The California Department of Public Health caught the contamination during routine samplings of the produce.

Affected cantaloupe was available to consumer from Oct. 5 until this past Friday, according to a report from Bay City News Service in San Francisco.
