CDC investigates E. coli outbreak

Members of the Centers for Disease Control arrived in Oklahoma over the weekend, joining the investigation of a deadly E. coli outbreak.

Previous queries into what made more than 200 people sick, and killed one man, have pointed the figurative finger at a restaurant near Tulsa, Okla.

What was first believed to be tainted well water, it was later determined that food served at the restaurant was to blame for the outbreak. Exactly what food is responsible for the outbreak has not been determined.

Severe stomach pains and side effects have accompanied the onset of this E. coli outbreak. At its peak, at least 50 people were hospitalized because of the poisoning. Now, just 20 people remain hospitalized with symptoms.

One Oklahoma state health official believes the outbreak has been contained because the amount of cases with similar symptoms have slowed to a trickle.
