Breakfast sausages recalled due to allergen contamination

Wayne Provision Co., aka Premier Meat Co., has been forced to recall its lot of breakfast sausages because they may be contaminated with undeclared allergens, hydrolized soy and whey, according to a report from The Los Angeles Times.

The Vernon, Calif.-based company is recalling 2.075 pounds of frozen pork sausage. The sausage was sold in 5-pound bags and the contamination was found during routine inspections by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The sausages were produced between August 2008 and April 2009 and shipped to restaurants in the Southern California and Las Vegas area.
