FDA Refuses Bunge Shipments from Canada Due to Salmonella

FDA records show the agency refused 13 Bunge shipments of Canadian canola meal that contained salmonella in August and September.

Twelve of the shipments came from Bunge’s plant in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, with the other originating in Altona, Manitoba.

Canola is a variant of rapeseed that is crushed for oil and meal.

The meal is used in animal feed, especially for cattle.
