Casa Fiesta Salmonella Illnesses Stacking Up

More and more Mexican food fans who patronized Casa Fiesta in Norwalk this April are wishing they’d skipped the craving. According to the Ohio Department of Health, there are 26 confirmed cases of salmonella food poisoning, but more than 60 cases are thought to be linked to this outbreak. Unfortunately, it’s still unknown exactly how many people ate at the restaurant who might have been affected.

Salmonella symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain and cramping. Although salmonella is not generally considered to a deadly type of food poisoning, some folks do become severely ill and require hospitalization — particularly those with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and children. Lost wages and medical expenses can certainly be burden enough to encourage even a healthy person sickened by salmonella to file a lawsuit.
