Another Restaurant Food Poisoning Outbreak in Buckeye State – This Time, Salmonella

Another Ohio restaurant has shut its doors after a potential food poisoning scare has resulted in an outbreak of 10 salmonella infections.

The Casa Fiesta restaurant in Norwalk, Ohio, voluntarily shut its doors and opened itself to food testing from Ohio food safety officials after the 10 reported cases of salmonella poisoning was linked to people who all ate at the establishment, according to a report in the Sandusky (Ohio) Register. All the infected patrons ate at the restaurant on April 24 or 25.

Officials said they are working to identify the source of the salmonella outbreak. The ten people sickened from eating at the restaurant all had to be hospitalized.

This news comes on the heels of a norovirus outbreak at Chipotle Grill in Kent, Ohio, which sickened dozens of patrons about two weeks ago.
