Tomi brand dried seafood products recalled due to Clostridium contamination

Foremost Foods International Inc. has initiated a recall on certain Tomi brand dried seafood products because they may be contaminated with Clostridium bacteria.

The products included in the recall were distributed to Seafood City and Manila Seafood retail stores in California, Nevada and Washington. The products in the recall were sold between Sept. 23, 2009, and Oct. 20, 2010. The products are sold in clear plastic packages marked with product descriptions.

No illnesses have been linked to any of these products. The recall was initiated by the manufacturer after a Food and Drug Administration investigation revealed the Pomona, Calif., manufacturing facility was not meeting federal standards.

Consumers are warned not to eat any of the recalled products even if they do not smell or appear spoiled or rotten.
