Quaker Smashbar pretzel snacks recalled due to milk allergy risk

Quaker Oats Company has issued a recall on one of its snack products because it contains an undeclared ingredient which could pose serious health risks to people with milk allergies.

According to a recall from Quaker Oats Co., the recall includes Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars. The snacks contain an undeclared milk allergen and those with milk allergies who eat this product can suffer serious illness or death. There is no indication anywhere on labels for this product that it contains the allergen.

Typically, products like this would contain the warning “May Contain Milk” somewhere on the label. The recall was initiated when it was noticed that the warning was not included on the labels of Quaker Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars.

The recall includes product with the UPC bar code ending in 31108 and a Best Before dates of Oct 29 11 RB, Oct 30 11 MM, Oct 30 11 RB, Nov 22 11 RB, Nov 23 11 RB, Nov 24 11 RB, Nov 27 11 RB, Dec 22 11 RB, Dec 22 11 MM, Dec 23 11 RB, Dec 23 11 MM, Dec 24 11 RB, Dec 24 11 MM. This date is stamped on the side of the packaging of the recalled products.

If anyone with a milk allergy who purchased this product still has it, they are urged to return the snacks to the store where they were purchased for a refund.

Quaker Oats said the recall does not include any other products it manufactures.
