More Grape Tomatoes added to growing recall list

More Grape Tomatoes linked to a single grower, Six Ls farm, have been linked to an ongoing, nationwide Salmonella outbreak.

In the latest recall of Grape Tomatoes, Northeast Produce Inc., of Plainville, Conn., has ordered back one specific Lot of Grape Tomatoes it received from Six Ls, which are included in that company’s wide-ranging recall due to Salmonella contamination.

As with the other recalls linked to this same farm, no illnesses have yet been tied to consumption of these tomatoes.

The following Grape Tomato products were packed for retail stores or sold in bulk to locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York and Rhode Island:

Fancy Sweet Grape Tomatoes: Sold in 1-pint plastic clamshell packages. They have a UPC of 0 33383 65585 7.

Cutie Brand Grape Tomatoes: Sold in 1-pint plastic clamshell packages. They have a UPC of 0 33383 65585 7.

Cutie Brand Grape Tomatoes: Sold in 8-pound bulk packages.

Cutie Brand Grape Tomatoes: Sold in 10-pound loose bulk packages.

Cherry Berries Grape Tomatoes: Sold in 20-pound loose bulk packages.

Salmonella poisoning is marked by fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The very young, the elderly and those with weak immune systems can experience more severe symptoms and require hospitalization.
