Montalvan’s Recalls Mamey Ice Cream Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination

As a precautionary measure, Ontario, California-based Montalvan’s Sales, Inc has voluntarily recalled “La Nuestra” brand frozen Mamey Ice Cream.

The ice cream may be contaminated with Salmonella Typhi, which causes typhoid fever.

The recall was initiated since the ice cream was made with La Nuestra Mamey Pulp, which was implicated via a strong epidemiologic link to a recent outbreak of Typhoid Fever in several Western States.

The recalled “La Nuestra” brand Mamey Ice Cream was distributed in the states of Nevada, and California, through retail stores & restaurant establishments.
