Cookie tins sold by DoubleTree hotels recalled for undeclared ingredients, allergy risk

A Tennessee company has issued a recall on Gift Tins filled with Cookies because it has not indicated on labels that the products contain eggs, soy lecithin, wheat and milk. Consumers with food allergies could develop life-threatening illness.

According to a release from The Christie Cookie Company, these ingredients were not indicated on labels of the following products, which the company is recalling:

Item # 1035 DoubleTree 6 (13.5 oz) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 10352 DoubleTree Anniversary Special containing two 6 Cookie Gift Tins (27 oz.).
Item # 1037 DoubleTree 12 (27 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 1038 DoubleTree 15 (33.75 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.
Item # 1039 DoubleTree 24 (54 oz.) Cookie Gift Tin.

These cookie tins were sold to guests at DoubleTree hotels nationwide or through direct order from The Christie Cookie Company. Tins contained between 6 and 24 cookies and were sold under the name “The Cookie By Double Tree.”

Any consumer with an allergy to any of these undeclared ingredients could eat them unaware of their inclusion. This could result in life-threatening allergic reactions.

The Christie Cookie Company claims no consumers have reported illnesses due to these products’ exclusion from ingredient labels.
