Local Sewage Spill Closes Texas Pizzeria

A popular pizza restaurant in Leon Springs, Texas was closed for several days in August after its water tested positive for E. coli bacteria, but it remains unknown whether the contamination is related to a 400,000-gallon sewage spill nearby.

The spill was discovered Wednesday and attributed to an equipment failure at a San Antonio Water System lift station.

Acting on advice from the Metropolitan Health District, the restaurant had all food and ice thrown out and sterilized the restaurant.

The restaurant has been reclosed due to lack of hot water until further notice.
