E.coli Outbreak at Home-Based Day Care Leads to Death of 4-Year-Old

One of four children hospitalized due to an E.coli outbreak tied to a Vancouver, Washington day care center has died.

The Washington Department of Early Learning was notified of the four-year-old boy’s death on Friday.

The home-based day care center, operated by Larry and Dianne Fletch, will remain closed until the affected staff members show no presence of the bacteria.

Officials are also monitoring those without positive samples for 10 days.
